Who am I?
Hello! I value humor, authenticity, and a strong belief in our natural capacity to heal (because humans are surprisingly resilient, even when it doesn’t feel like it). My approach is relational and client centered. Together, we’ll explore the patterns, behaviors, and thoughts that are no longer serving you well. I’m queer-identifying, and my practice is rooted in social justice. I am gender- and sexuality-affirming, sex-positive, and welcoming of all bodies and abilities.
As a certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, I know the body loves to hold onto old stories (even when we don’t). Trauma and attachment wounds can show up through the habits we carry in our movement, posture, or nervous system responses, which can make it feel like we’re stuck replaying the past. I incorporate body awareness in my work with clients to help better understand the physical and psychological echoes of difficult experiences, as well as reconnect with the wisdom their bodies have been trying to communicate all along.
I come with 16 years of experience in the mental health field, including facilitating group therapy as well as intensive outpatient programing. I don’t believe that one size fits all when it comes to modalities; in addition to sensorimotor, I integrate an eclectic mix of approaches.
It can be a frustrating process to find that "right" therapist. My hope is that you can walk away from our work together feeling seen and understood.
Overwhelmed, skeptical, or not sure where to start? Welcome!
I am a proud dog mom to a stubborn Boxer and a hearing impaired Boston Terrier. I am an avid hiker, gardener, mountain biker, and owner of an ever growing collection of houseplants.
